Thank you for checking out the FAS Demo Car. It's a 1999 R34 Nissan Skyline GTR Vspec in factory Lightning Yellow. One of the rarest R34 GTR colors available. Enjoy the pictures and write up. We spent a lot of time, money, sweat and tears on this car.

About FAS Demo Cars:
Past FAS cars included a 1995 BMW M3 (chipped, BPU, CF trim pieces), 1993 Acura NSX (supercharged), 1994 Toyota Supra 6-spd (T-66 single turbo conversion), and a 1996 R33 Nissan Skyline GTR (BPU) just to name a few. The R33 Skyline was in a Japanese magazine called "GTR Owners Collection vol. III". Photographers and editors flew from Japan to Los Angeles for a photo shoot and interview. Also, the car was featured in a video produced for Nissan as an introduction to the new GTR. That Skyline was also sponsored by Nitto and was on display at all of the Formula D events in Southern California, Mossy Nissan car show, Import Showoff, LACR car show, Hot Import Nights, and participated in a few track events at Willow Springs.
We first became aware of Skylines by playing Sony Playstation 2's Gran Turismo. Ever since then we sought out to buy our first Skyline, which took 2 years to find and another 2 years to source parts for it. Before finishing the R33 project we came across a R34 Skyline that we have now, and then eventually we sold the R33. We have been building the R34 for the past year and will continue to build upon it. Our goal is to have a reliable 650whp full-street trim car capable of putting down fast times at the local tracks.
Our recent trip to the Tokyo Auto Salon in 2007 opened our eyes to Japanese styling and tuning. Our car’s setup was heavily influenced by our trip and by tuning shops that we visited such as, Garage Saurus, Mine’s, Top Secret and Tomei. In fact, on that trip we bought many parts that are on the car now. With the Japan trip in mind, we wanted to stay true to the Japanese style of building cars. Finding a Japanese builder/tuner in the US was a must. We hired Aki Fuchigami who was also our tour guide in Japan. He has a 9-second 1/4 mile R32 Skyline GTR. Also, he used to work on Group A R32 race cars back in the early 1990s. He currently works at GMG and on their World Challenge Series Porsche race cars. Aki built our car using his extensive experience with Skylines and our personal taste in mind.
What you see on the cover of Sport Compact Car magazine (November 2007 issue) is the semi-finished product; every project car is a WIP (work-in-progress). With only a weeks notice, the FAS car was entered into the annual Sport Compact Car "2007 Ultimate Street Car Challenge". It was a battle between 10 of the best, highly modified cars in the United States. The cars were put through 15 different tests to see which car would be crowned the "Ultimate Street Car". The FAS demo car did exceptionally well considering the limited time to prepare the car. The car excelled at all of the performance type challenges and finished the entire competition without a hitch; a testament to the Skyline platform, our builders experience and our style of building cars.
For 2008, we’re looking to increase horsepower, displacement and torque. Look for us at upcoming track events, car meets and shows. Click here to see what’s in store for 2008.
